Elephant Poop Tea

We went into the bush to collect different things to make teas, medicine and dyes for clothing. The tea in this picture was made from elephant poop, also known as elephant dung. It sounds disgusting but tastes pretty good. Maybe I can make some at school. JUST KIDDING!

Tracking

This is my guide Andreas.  He taught me how to hunt and track animals.  We are practicing an exercise of tracking our group who are hiding somewhere in the bush.  The day before, we tracked elephants and got very close.  This was dangerous because elephants can charge anytime.

Brushing

We went into the bush and made toothbrushes.  The ash from leadwood trees made a very discusting but effective toothpaste.  I really needed this after drinking elephant poop tea.

Lion Capture

We went on a lion capture with vets from Kruger National Park in South Africa.  The vets were testing the lion pride for Bovine TB.  We arrived at 5:00 pm and ended at 4:00 am.  We captured and tested two female lions.
