In Turkey, an ancient city named Ephesus has been preserved for more than 2,000 years. In Rome 80 AD, the remains of an ancient coliseums still stands where gladiators once fought wild beasts and spectators would cheer. In 11th century Morocco a wall was bulit to unite two parts of Fes. The more we travel, the more we realize how many generations have shaped our ways of thinking. When we think of our own country as being so new, we begin to have a different understanding of time.
So, what is our take away? 80 or 90 years is not a long period of time, yet for most of us this will be our time to experience, observe and shape our surroundings. We are lucky, for in some countries people only live 30-35 years.
So what is important in our lives, what can we learn and how can we make an impact?
This question is our take away from experiencing things that are old.
